Incline is scheduled to compete in the Big George Invite at Douglas on Saturday. Regionals are May 8-9 at Fernley and state is May 15-16 in Las Vegas.

Incline track and field athletes enjoyed a fine overall showing against large schools at the Carson Invitational on Saturday.

Senior sprinter and hurdler Valeri Nix performed exceptionally well in particular. Nix set two personal records (PR) and posted four top-10 finishes, including two seconds.

She placed second in both the 300-meter hurdles (49.66) and the 200-meter dash, posting a PR of 26.68 in the 200. She also set a PR in the 100 hurdles with a time of 17.19, which was good enough for fourth place. Nix was eighth in the 100-meter dash (13.58).

Incline junior Kandace Dirga placed sixth in the 400 (65.11), 20th in the 100 (14.32) and 24th in the 200 (29.63), while Serena Singh was 44th in the 100 (16.68).

For the Incline boys, junior Matt Colby competed in four events and fared well in each. He finished third in the 300 hurdles (42.66), fourth in the 100 (11.77), fourth in the 200 (23.53) and ninth in the 110 hurdles (17.51).

Rolland Williams, a senior, placed eighth in the 100 (12.0), tied for 10th in the high jump (5-06) and was 21st in the long jump (17-01.5).

Junior Ryan Eppolito finished seventh in the 800 (2:11.93) and 14th in the 1,600 (5:11.19), Blake Perry tied with Williams for 10th in the high jump (5-06), and Conor Devine was 27th in the triple jump (29-05).
