Incline track: Highlanders compete at Reed Sparks Rotary

A handful of Highlanders competed among a competitive field of large schools at the Reed Sparks Rotary Invitational this past weekend.

Ryan Eppolito, Edward Parchill and Esten Flores made up Incline’s boys contingent, while Raquel Oliver, Kandace Dirga, Madelyn Pecorino and Ann Schrage represented the Incline girls.

Eppolito placed 28th in both the 800- and 1,600-meter runs, posting times of 2:16.56 and 5:09.87, respectively, while Parchill finished 44th in the 800 (2:33.64) and 38th in the 1,600 (5:26.92).

Flores was 28th in the shot put (36-06.75) and 25th in the discus (97-09).

For the girls, Schrage placed 54th in the 800 (3:06.11) and 57th in the 1,600 (6:36.50).

In the sprint events, Oliver was 52nd in 100 prelims (14.69), Dirga was 53rd in the 100 prelims (14.71) and 44th in the 200 prelims (30.97), and Pecorino was 73rd in the 100 prelims (15.75) and 64th in the 200 prelims (33.22).

The Highlanders are scheduled to compete in the Sparks League Meet on Saturday, April 9, and the Northwest Invitational on April 16.
