The Incline track and field team competed against close to 20 schools from all classifications in the 41st Annual Fallon Elks Invitational this past Saturday.

Freshman distance runner Stephanie Homola led the team with a third-place finish in the 3,200-meter run, posting a time of 13:10. In the 1,600, Homola placed 12th with a time of 6:01.60.

Incline senior Jessica Hillman finished seventh in the 400 in a time of 1:05.47, and sophomore teammate Valeri Nix was ninth in 1:07.51. Nix also was 11th in the 200, in 28.76, and 11th in the 100 hurdles, in 19.46.

Nix and Hillman teamed up with Kate Ballan and Hannah Laurie to finish seventh in the 4×400 relay, as they crossed the finish line in 4:51.32.

Senior Tara Lincoln fared well in the long jump and triple jump, as she placed seventh in the triple jump with a mark of 30 feet, 7.5 inches, and was ninth in the long jump with a leap of 13-2.5 feet.

Freshman Kira Porter, meanwhile, finished eighth in the high jump, clearing the bar at 4-06.0.

On the boys side, freshman Josh Lewis led the way with a sixth-place finish in the high jump, as he cleared a height of 5-06.0. Lewis also finished 12th in the triple jump, at 34-10.0.

Another Incline freshman, Ryan Eppolito, placed ninth in the 800 with a time of 2:17.50 and 11th in the 1,600 with a time of 11:41.60.

The Highlanders are scheduled to compete in the Reed Sparks Rotary Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
