Incline volleyball: Highlanders drop last two matches

The Incline and North Tahoe volleyball teams opened Division III play with a rival match at Incline last Thursday. The Lakers won in straight sets, 25-22, 25-23, 25-20, to improve to 1-0 in league and 6-1 overall.

Senior Kira Porter led the Highlanders (0-1 league, 1-4 overall) with 14 kills, three blocks and seven digs.

Keegan Wells finished with 25 assists, Mia Bibolet had four kills and three blocks, Molly Racich had two aces, and Alyse Kirkland and Chandler Cohn each had five digs.

The Highlanders then took on Division I-A opponent South Tahoe on the road Tuesday. Incline took the first set but lost the next three, 25-19, 21-25, 20-25, 18-25.

Stats were not available from the match.

Up next

Incline will hit the road for the next three matches. The Highlanders are scheduled to play at perennial league power Yerington on Friday before traveling to West Wendover next Friday, Sept. 25, and Battle Mountain on Sept. 26.

Incline returns home for a league match against Silver Stage on Tuesday, Sept. 29, at 5 p.m.
