Incline volleyball: Highlanders riding four-match win streak

The Incline volleyball team ran its league winning streak to four with a win in straight sets over visiting Pershing County on Friday, 25-17, 25-17, 25-14.

The Highlanders are now 4-2 in the Northern Division III, trailing only Yerington (4-0) and North Tahoe (4-1) in the standings after the first half of league play.

Prior to the Pershing County match, Incline defeated West Wendover (2-3), Battle Mountain (0-4) and Silver Stage (0-5) in straight sets.

The Highlanders allowed only nine kills against the Mustangs on Friday — five by Bailey Wanner and two apiece by Riley Jaramillo and Erica Holland. Pershing County also managed only one block against Incline, which did not provide stats from the match.

Against Silver Stage, Incline senior Kira Porter tallied 15 kills and Madeleine Saxe finished with seven. Porter also had six blocks, while Saxe had 10 digs. Both Porter and Saxe had three service aces.

Incline is scheduled to resume league play with a home match against Yerington on Friday, Oct. 16.
