Incline volleyball: Lions win league match in four sets

Few teams have the ability to play Yerington as tough as the Highlanders did this past Friday.

The Highlanders took the first set, 25-23, in a league match at the home of the defending state champs. Incline dropped the next two sets, 12-25, 11-25, before losing a closely contested fourth set, 23-25.

Yerington senior Kassidy Lommori finished with 20 kills, 11 digs and three blocks to lead the Lions, while Ashley Rife had six service aces and 18 assists.

Incline stats were not provided.

The Highlanders are now 0-2 in Division III play and 1-5 overall. The Lions, who defeated North Tahoe in straight sets on Saturday, are 2-0 in league and 16-4 overall.

Incline is scheduled to play league matches at West Wendover on Friday and at Battle Mountain on Saturday. The Highlanders return home to host Pershing County on Oct. 2.
