Jv football defeats Lowry

Adding to its pyramid of success, the Truckee High School junior varsity football team defeated Lowry High School 41-14 on Saturday.

In the first quarter Micah Carbajal scored on a 45-yard run. The extra point was no good. Shortly after Mike Lopez scored on a 15-yard run. The Wolverines two-point conversion was good to put Truckee up 14-0 at the end of the first quarter.

In the second quarter Mike Lopez scored on a 12-yard run, the extra point was good. Lopez would score again off a 65-yard run, and the extra point was good.

At the end of the first half Carbajal scored on a 6-yard run to put the Wolverines up 34-0.

In the third quarter Lopez would score one more time to give the Wolverines their final 41 points. Lopez rushed for 132 yards and four touchdowns on the day.

Quarterback Robert Jones threw six out of seven passes complete for 159 yards.

On defense John Hooper, Freddy Brenes and Corey Raber lead in tackling.

“I thought it was a great Homecoming game,” said Head Coach Dow Higginbotham. “The kids played well.”
