JV softballers wrap season with doubleheader win

The Truckee HIgh School JV Girls’ Softball team finished a winning season with two victories over rival North Tahoe.

Amanda Jones hit a home run in the third inning to put Truckee ahead for good in the first game. Truckee broke it open in a 10-run fourth inning, highlighted by doubles by Katherine Taylor and Lauren Cowden and a huge triple by Sabra Hight. Truckee won the game 15-4.

-In the second game of the doubleheader, Truckee’s lead-off batter, Shayna Vosburgh, hit a home run, and Truckee never looked back, winning 15-1. Kaitie Zusy had a three-run triple in the third inning, and Jenn Hill hit a two-run homerun in the fourth inning.



-Unfortunately, there are no playoffs for junior varsity softball, so the season is done. The Lady Wolverines posted an impressive overall record of 18-1, and went 16-0 in league play.-
