South Shoreand#8217;s Josh and#8220;Baby Jand#8221; Daiek stormed the Subaru Freeskiing World Tour Kirkwood stop this past weekend, topping the field just ahead of Squaw Valleyand#8217;s Kevin Oand#8217;Meara.

Daiek entered the finals in front of last yearand#8217;s Kirkwood champion, Dylan Crossman of Utah, and Coloradoand#8217;s Ted Davenport, both of whom fell in the final run to open the door for Oand#8217;Meara and third-place finisher Guerlain Chicherit of France.

The competition was forced into two hold days during last weekand#8217;s storm, but returned with deeper snow, cold temperatures and cloudless skies. It might have been the best conditions Daiek had ever skied at Kirkwood, he said.

and#8220;The consistency of the snow was unbelievable. It was hero snow,and#8221; he said.

The Subaru Freeskiing World Tour moves on to the final stop in Snowbird, Utah, March 8-13.
