The North Tahoe volleyball team defeated visiting Whittell in four games in a Northern 2A league match Tuesday night.

After dropping the first set 23-25, the Lakers rebounded to win three straight, 25-23, 25-22, 25-20.

“We played well, especially after losing the first game,” said North Tahoe head coach Tom LeFevers. “It’s easy to get down, but we didn’t. We battled through it, and it worked out for us.”

North Tahoe senior Kayla Baumgardner led the way with 10 kills and five blocks. Arielle Younger recorded three kills and seven blocks, while Sydney Courcier had four kills and Ellie Krauss two kills.

The Lakers are now 3-0 in league, with the first two wins coming against Incline and Mineral County.

North Tahoe plays a nonleague match at Lassen on Thursday.
