Lakers kick off season against 4A Galena

The North Tahoe volleyball team began its 2011 season with a nonleague match at home against 4A Galena on Tuesday. Although Galena won in straight sets, North Tahoe head coach Tom LeFevers said the early-season match served as a great experience for his players.Taylor Briggs finished with four blocks for the Lakers, and Lexie Courcier had five kills and six aces. We expect to improve over the season as we have a whole new team and some new players.UP NEXT: The Lakers were scheduled to face 4A Hug in a nonleague match on the road Thursday night. They play a Northern 2A match at Yerington on Tuesday and at South Tahoe on Thursday. North Tahoeandamp;#8217;s first home match is scheduled for Sept. 15 against Whittell.
