Little League sluggers are swinging big
The following are results from last week’s Truckee Little League games. Results reflect only those turned in by coaches by noon Monday.
Longs Drugs Yankees 12 – Truckee Lions Mariners 2: For the Yankees, singles in the second inning from Rabar, Silva, Pearson and Newland. A triple by Mike Silva in the third and a double by Sam Silver in the fourth. Max Jacks pitched. Yankees are 4-3.
Doc Gelso Construction Reds 8 – DMC Construction A’s 7: Geary Jones pitched for one strikeout. Jon McClain pitched three strikeouts and Kyle Adams pitched two strikeouts for the Reds. Kyle Adams doubled with a line drive toward third. Cory Arth doubled for an RBI, singled for two RBI, stole second, singled and stole two other bases. John McClain doubled and singled for an RBI. Scott Moore stole third and Kyle Young stole second and third. Geary Jones singled. Peter O’Neil singled for an RBI and stole second.
Truckee CHP Giants 8 – Coachland R.V. Park Dodgers 3: For the Giants, Jamie Maehler had three hits for the Giants including a two-run triple. Danny Knapik had a two-run homer. Justin Cory and Logan Walsh each had two hits. Pitcher Alex Colin allowed one run.
Weststar Rockies 13 – Trout Creek Landscape Supply Giants 12: For the Giants, Alex Rump had two singles and an RBI. Matthew McKinney had one single, one triple, and an RBI. Scott Eberhardt had two doubles, one homer and four RBI. Scott Bosco had a single and two RBI. On the pitching staff, Alex Rump had five strikeouts and three assists.
Trout Creek Landscape Supply Giants 11 – World Travel of Tahoe Orioles 10: For the Giants, Alex Rump was 3 for 4 with two singles, a double and three RBI. Rump pitched two innings with four strikeouts. Michael Matthew pitched the last four innings, throwing seven strikeouts.
Scott Bosco was 3 for 4 with three singles. Kenny McCollum was 3 for 4 with three singles and two RBI. Scott Eberhardt was 3 for 4 with two singles and home run. Ricky Pearce was 1 for 4 with a double and RBI. Rump pitched two innings for four strikeouts. Michael Matthew pitched four innings for seven strikeouts.
Pizza Junction Rockies 9 – Truckee CHP Giants 4: Christopher Galvin, Stevie Buschman, Josh Furr and Jr. Murphy each went 2 for 3 for the Rockies. Furr and Murphy pitched the first five innings. Daniel Galvin pitched a three-up, three-down sixth inning for the save. Rockies are 6-2. This was the Giants’ first loss of the year.
