Mt. Hardware, Dinosaurs win 3 on 3

Mt. Hardware took first place in the Truckee-Donner Recreation and Park District’s winter 35 and older 3 on 3 “A” league while the Dunking Dinosaurs captured the “B” title.

Mt. Hardware cruised to a 20-4 record, six games ahead of Stone’s Tire, which took second with a 14-10 mark.

The championship Mt. Hardware team consisted of Frank Richey, Greg Hovorka, Gary Schlinker and Neil Mock.



The “B” league race went down to the final night, with the Dinosaurs tied with the Family Connection at 15-5 records.

In a hard-fought battle, the Dinosaurs came out on top two games to none to take the title.



The Dunking Dinosaurs are Larry Prosor, John Reedy, Greg Mihevic and Mike Babb.

In the full court “A” league matchups last week, heavy Equipment battle Mt. Hardware into double overtime to win 47-45, while Matt’s Yard Maintenance stole Stone’s Tire’s thunder in a 65-46 victory.

In the “B” league, The Lunch Bunch slipped past the Hopefuls 62-49, while the Rotary defeated Lightning Lock and Key 64-37.

Registration is under way for the final adult basketball leagues of the season.

Spring 35 and older 3 on 3 will play Wednesday evenings, starting April 14.

Full court teams will play Tuesdays and/or Thursdays beginning April 13.

Cost for the 35 and older league is $100; full court is $180.
