Nash comes home; will give talk

Olympic cross-country skier Marcus Nash returns to Truckee next week for a presentation and talk about his recent World Cup and Olympic racing experiences.On Friday, March 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the Tahoe Donner Northwoods Clubhouse, Nash will show videos of the races at Hakuba, including footage unseen in the United States.Nash at NaganoThe two-time Olympian recently participated in the Winter Games in Nagano, Japan, posting a top-20 finish in the relay.Nash was 78th in the 10 km, 49th in the 30 km and 35th in the 50 km freestyle event in Nagano.During the video presentation, Nash will narrate, giving first-hand accounts of the recent Games.He will also give a slide presentation, with behind-the-scenes accounts of the Olympics and World Cup racing.The show is a benefit for the Far West Nordic Ski Education Association.The event marks Nash’s first Truckee appearance since returning from Japan.Ticket informationTickets, $10 for adults and $5 for junior, are available at Tahoe Donner Cross Country Ski Area (587-9484) and Paco’s Bike & Ski in the Gateway Shopping Center (587-5561).Seats are limited and advance ticket purchase is recommended bu event organizers.For information, call Mark Nadell at 587-0304.Sierra Sun E-mail: sun@tahoe.comVisitors Guide | News | Diversions | Marketplace | Weather | CommunityCopyright, tahoe.com.
