North Tahoe at Truckee volleyball | Wolverines heating up near season’s end

The Truckee volleyball team defeated North Tahoe in three games Wednesday and South Tahoe in four tightly contested games Tuesday to run its win streak to eight straight.

The Wolverines are now 17-9 overall, 6-0 in Mount Rose League play and 8-0 against the Division I-A.

Jessie Joplin was named Player of the Match against North Tahoe, which host Truckee won by a score of 25-9, 25-11, 25-14. Joplin finished with 14 digs and a service ace.

Mackenzie Redner posted a match-high 13 kills and two blocks, Mel Jones had six kills and 10 service points, Chelsea Mohun had six kills and 12 assists, and Gabby Moretti had five kills and 20 assists. Kestlie Stefanelli had 18 digs.

For the Lakers, Lauren Willson finished with three kills, Jordan Briggs had two kills and six digs, and Kylie Willson had 13 digs. Taylor Briggs added seven digs and Jennay Argiris had five digs and three service points.

The Wolverines were tested against the Vikings, and they passed with a tough win in four sets, 22-25, 25-21, 25-23, 25-13.

With four games to work with, Redner smashed 24 kills to lead the way. Lauren Peak finished with nine kills and a team-high 12 service points, while Moretti had 38 assists. Stefanelli was named Player of the Match, recording a team-high 19 digs and three service aces.

UP NEXT: Truckee plays at Whittell on Friday and hosts Sparks on Tuesday at 6 p.m. North Tahoe plays at Sparks on Friday and hosts South Tahoe on Saturday at 1 p.m. and Whittell on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
