North Tahoe baseball | DesLauriers, Arnold pitch Lakers to victory

Sun Staff report

The North Tahoe baseball team hit the road for a nonleague game at Forest Lake Christian in Auburn on Tuesday and returned with a 4-1 victory.

Sophomore hurler Wildon DesLauriers started and earned the win. He allowed only one unearned run on two hits and two walks over five innings. Brendon Arnold threw two hitless innings in relief, striking out two, to preserve the win.

DesLauriers trailed after the second inning, however, as Forest Lake Christian held the Lakers off the scoreboard until they broke through with two runs in the top of the fifth to take over the lead, 2-1. North Tahoe added two runs in the seventh to help pad the lead before Arnold shut the door in the bottom half of the inning.

The Lakers mustered four hits in the game. DesLauriers helped his cause by going 2-for-2 with an RBI and two runs scored, while Mitchell Myers had a hit and two RBIs, and Arnold had a hit and RBI.

North Tahoe improved to 12-5 overall and Forest Lake Christian dropped to 6-3-1.

The North Tahoe softball team was scheduled to play Foresthill on Wednesday, but the game was rained out.
