North Tahoe baseball | DesLauriers pitches Lakers past Whittell

North Tahoe starter Wildon DesLauriers held Whittell hitless through three innings while his offense provided plenty of support en route to an 8-3 Mount Rose League win in Gardnerville on Wednesday.

Whittell’s Matt Elliott broke up the no-hitter with a single in the fourth, while DesLauriers kept the Warriors off the scoreboard until they broke through with a three-run sixth.

DesLauriers allowed four hits and four walks while recording four strikeouts before he was relieved by Colin Spencer in the sixth. Spencer struck out four and did not allow a hit or walk the final inning and one-third.

North Tahoe had nine hits off of Whittell starter Hunter Morgan, scoring four in the third and four more in the seventh.

Shane Christian and Alex Tyler collected two hits apiece, with Christian hitting a double and driving in three runs and Tyler driving in one run. Connor Altick contributed two RBIs on a hit, while Baird Bishop had a double and RBI, DesLauriers, Conner Lewis and Mitchell Myers each had one hit, with Myers driving in a run.

The Lakers improved to 4-6 in Mount Rose League play and 14-7 overall as Whittell fell to 1-9 in league and 3-12 overall.
