North Tahoe baseball | Lakers falter late against visiting Yerington

The North Tahoe baseball team hung with visiting Yerington for three innings Monday.

The fourth and fifth innings were not as kind to the Lakers, however.

North Tahoe scored two runs in the bottom of the third to take a brief 2-1 lead, but the Lions struck for eight runs in the fourth and three in the fifth en route to a 12-2 league win.

The Lakers had seven hits in the contest off of Yerington pitchers Paul Swirsky and Walker Ow-Wing, with Lucas Earley, Mitchell Myers, Miles Johansen, Graham Payne, Drew Austin, Owen Davis and Victor Munoz contributing a hit apiece. Earley and Johansen had an RBI apiece.

Myers and Trent Lingruen pitched for the Lakers. Myers recorded six strikeouts in three innings and allowed five hits and two runs.

Yerington, which went on to defeat Incline 7-6 on Wednesday, is now 6-2 in Northern Division III play. North Tahoe is 0-10.

North Tahoe is scheduled to play a three-game league series at West Wendover on Friday and Saturday.
