North Tahoe baseball | Lakers outlast Virgina City on the road

The North Tahoe baseball team defeated Virginia City 11-8 in a nonleague game held in Carson City on Wednesday.

Mychal Paschal started on the mound for the Lakers and pitched three innings, allowing seven runs on six hits while striking out three.

Sophomore hurler Colin Spencer came on in relief and pitched the remaining four innings to shut down the Muckers and preserve the win. Spencer did not allow a hit while recording eight strikeouts. Virginia City scored one unearned run against him.

Offensively, Brian Tidd led the way, going 2 for 2 with a walk, a hit by pitch, a stand-up triple and an RBI. Connor Lewis was 2 for 4 with an RBI, and Connor Altick and Brendon Nelson added a hit apiece.

Shane Christian drew two walks, was hit by a pitch and scored four runs. Oakley Keeler reached base in all three of his plate appearances by way of walks.

North Tahoe improved to 5-7-1 overall on the season.

UP NEXT: The Lakers are scheduled to play a league doubleheader at Sparks on Saturday at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
