North Tahoe basketball | Girls lose defensive game at Silver Stage

The Laker girls came up on the short end of a defensive battle at Silver Stage on Saturday, 27-21.

North Tahoe managed only four points in the first quarter and six in the second but trailed only 13-10 at the half after matching Silver Stage’s defensive intensity.

The Lakers (0-2) never heated up on the offensive end, however, scoring just four points in the third quarter to Silver Stage’s three. The Nighthawks outscored the Lakers 11-7 in the fourth quarter to secure the win.

Against Portola, Ricky Lowdermilk posted 23 points to lead the Tigers, while Billy Broad scored 13. Against Lassen, Nathan Freeman scored 17 points to lead the Grizzlies, and Austin Marcum had 12 points. Laker stats were not available.
