The Lakers ran into a well-disciplined Lone Pine team in a 57-8 loss on the road this past Friday.

The Golden Eagles (3-0) took control early, scoring 21 points in the first quarter and 36 in the second to carry a commanding lead into the half.

North Tahoe got on the board with a touchdown reception from quarterback Thomas Mercogliano to Eli Snyder in the fourth quarter. Raul Estrada punched in the two-point conversion.

The Lakers used four different players to gain 97 yards of rushing, led by Mercogliano’s 87 yards on 10 rushes. Mercogliano completed eight of his 13 pass attempts for 100 yards. Snyder caught three passes for 68 yards, highlighted by a 38-yard play.

Brett Hurt recorded a team-high seven tackles for the Lakers, Sam Sheridan had an interception, and Ethan Everist and Miguel Munoz-Lara each caused a fumble.

Hurt was named North Tahoe’s Overall and Special Teams Player of the Game. Mercogliano was Offensive Player of the Game, and Estrada, who had five tackles, was Defensive Player of the Game.

The Lakers (0-4) will look to get in the win column with an 8-man game at Carlin (3-0) on Friday.
