The North Tahoe golf team competed in a Northern 2A tournament held at Thunder Canyon Golf Course near Washoe Lake on Monday.

Temperatures were comfortable but a steady 25-mph wind drove scores higher than usual. Most of the golfers had never played on the course, either.

Five full teams competed, with Whittell earning the win with a collective score of 441. Incline was second at 467, followed by Sierra Lutheran at 474 and North Tahoe at 512. Yerington was fifth at 601.

Incline’s Jordan Wright earned medalist honors, shooting a 76, while Jake Williams of Whittell was runner-up with a 79 and Derek Werle of Whittell was third with an 86.

Fenley led the Lakers individually, carding a 90. Semmens shot a 94, McGuire-McCarthy a 106, Griffin Granger a 107 and Zachary Kriston a 115.
