North Tahoe golf | Daniels, Johnson lead Lakers at Old Brockway

North Tahoe sophomores Kylie Daniels and Abigail Johnson finished second and third, respectively, to lead the Lakers in a Northern Division III tournament at Old Brockway Golf Course this past Thursday.

Devi Meyers of Incline was the tournament medalist, shooting a 92, while Daniels carded a 104 and Johnson a 113.

North Tahoe’s Isabelle Schenone shot a 118 and Ivy Altick shot a 140 to help lead their team to a second-place finish with a collective score of 475 to Incline’s 441. Yerington was third at 528.

The Lakers now have their eyes on the Northern Division III regional tournament, which is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 11, at Fernley Golf Course, where they will compete for a state championship berth as a team against Incline, Yerington and Battle Mountain.

Only the top two teams advance to state, while the top three individuals from non-qualifying teams will also advance. State is Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 15-16, at Eagle Valley in Carson City.
