North Tahoe golf | Fenley leads Lakers at Empire Ranch

The North Tahoe golf team finished second in a 2A tournament held at Empire Ranch Golf Course in Carson City on Friday.

Led by Buster Fenley, the Lakers carded a 480 as a team while Whittell took the win with a 440. Yerington (528) was third and Sierra Lutheran (572) fourth. A total of seven schools participated, but only four had a full team of five golfers.

Jordan Wright of Incline, which had only three players, was the tournament medalist, shooting a 73.

Fenley shot North Tahoeand#8217;s low round with an 85 to finish fourth individually out of 30 players. Daniel Vandewiele placed sixth for the Lakers, shooting an 89 to mark his personal best at a tournament.

and#8220;Our team played great,and#8221; said North Tahoe head coach Steve Munro.

UP NEXT: The Lakers, who may not have a full team because of Spring Break, are scheduled to compete Wednesday at Genoa Lakes Resort.
