North Tahoe golf: Scott, Hipsley top 3 at Washoe County

The Lakers made up for their lack of numbers at last Thursday’s boys golf tournament with a couple of solid performances individually.

Playing in cold, windy conditions at Washoe County Golf Club, North Tahoe’s Murphy Scott posted the second-lowest score of the tournament with an 83 while teammate Connor Hipsley fired a 91, which was good enough for third place.

Yerington’s Griffin Cooper was the tournament medalist with a 79.

Also competing for the Lakers were Jake Inclan, who shot a 101, and Adrian Brambila, who shot a 111. North Tahoe had only four golfers due to Spring Break, and five are needed to record a team score.

Whittell pulled out the team win with a score of 494. Yerington was second at 551 and was followed by Incline (559) and Sierra Lutheran (567). Sage Ridge and Hawthorne did not record team scores.

North Tahoe is scheduled to host a Division III tournament at Dayton Valley Golf Club on Wednesday at 1 p.m.
