North Tahoe golf | Trevor Semmens leads Lakers at Dayton Valley

The North Tahoe golf team finished third out of seven teams in a Northern 2A tournament held at Dayton Valley Golf Course on Tuesday.

Whittell took first place with a team score of 428. The Warriors were followed by Incline with 451 and North Tahoe with 493. Sierra Lutheran (506) and Yerington (527) were fourth and fifth, while the remaining schools did not have enough golfers to record a team score.

Competing in 25-mph winds, Trevor Semmens carded an 88 to lead the Lakers. It was the first time in three years that Semmens posted the lowest North Tahoe score.

Buster Fenley shot a 92, Daniel Vandewiele a 98, Riley McGuire a 103, Zachary Kriston a 112 and Griffin Granger a 113.

Jake Williams of Whittell was the tournament medalist, shooting a 73, while defending state champ Jordan Wright of Incline was second with a 75 and Nick Smith of Whittell was third with an 80.
