North Tahoe grad Jamie Gross wins collegiate snowboard race

Jamie Gross, a 2010 North Tahoe grad and three-year member of the Lakersand#8217; state champion snowboard team, recorded a first-place finish in giant slalom at the U.S. Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association (USCSA) Mid-Atlantic Regionals this past Saturday.

Thirty-three colleges from the Mid-Atlantic and Southern regions of the United States competed in the USCSA Mid-Atlantic Regionals at Hunter Mountain in Hunter, N.Y.

Gross is a freshman at Connecticut College in New London, Conn., and was the only woman representing her school. Before the regionals, she came in first place in all of her divisional races as well.

Gross has qualified for the USCSA National Championships held in Sun Valley, Idaho, the week of March 7-12, however, she will not be attending due to her college schedule.
