North Tahoe lacrosse teams split against North Reno

North Tahoeandamp;#8217;s U15 lacrosse team went head-to-head against North Reno in a High Sierra Youth Lacrosse League matchup at North Tahoe Middle School this past Sunday, and came out with an 18-9 win to remain undefeated on the season. North Tahoe came out strong with a solid defensive effort against North Renoandamp;#8217;s talented attack. Offensively, North Tahoeandamp;#8217;s shots found the goal often, which led to a 7-3 lead at the half. North Reno came out fast in the third quarter with two quick goals to tighten the score at 7-5. However, North Tahoe was able to settle down and set the pace the rest of the game with a strong team effort which led to a big win. North Tahoe is now 5-0 in league play. Defensively, the team was led by Conner Gebhardt, Ethan Faye and Blaize Bibolet. On offense, Tanner Quenneville, Chase Whitney and Garrett Driller were the leaders in goals scored. Lionel Pascal and Jack McCann had two assists each, while Eric Bourke, Sean Robinson and Stein Arntson were dominant on ground balls.

In the U13 game, North Tahoe was handed its first loss of the season by a very good North Reno team. North Tahoe won the first meeting in a 10-9 overtime thriller. However, this time around North Reno was able to even the series with 12-6 win. For North Tahoe, Ben Ropers had an excellent first game at goalie. Owen Davis, Reed Gebhardt and Andrew Bourke were stellar at their respective positions.
