The Rams were honored as the future of high school football in North Lake Tahoe by the Incline High School Athletic Boosters during a halftime celebration at the Highlanders’ home game against ROP this past Thursday night.

IHS Booster President Sharon Schrage arranged an event around football that extended beyond sports when she said, “This is a great way to promote community in Incline Village, and we are so glad this night all came together.”

North Lake Tahoe Pop Warner Association President Scott Wilderman agreed.

“This has been the best season ever for our football program,” he said. “The two North Lake Tahoe high schools pulled together with us this season to provide venues for our home games and capped it all off with a night that recognized the commitments of kids and parents to a future that sees the North Tahoe Community as football Country. I’m simply beside myself.”

As if that wasn’t enough momentum, the North Tahoe Pop Warner Junior Pee Wee cheerleaders went on to capture first place in the Sagebrush-Empire Pop Warner League’s Annual Cheer Competition on Saturday.

“These girls worked so hard this year,” said NLTPW Cheer Director Heather Baker. “It was my great honor and privilege to guide them on their journey to a place where the entire Reno/Carson/Tahoe area, and the Sagebrush-Empire Pop Warner League, would have an opportunity to recognize the effort our kids put in to what they do. They truly won, in every way.”

The Rams have one more regular-season game when both the Junior Pee Wee and Junior Midget teams travel to South Lake Tahoe to face the Vikings on Saturday at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m., respectively.  For more information and a Rams season schedule, go to http://www.north
