North Tahoe prep roundup: Laker boys soccer thumps Fallon 17-1

TAHOE CITY, Calif. — The North Tahoe boys soccer team might still be scoring goals.

The Lakers outscored their opposition by a staggering 24-2 tally last week, trouncing Fallon 17-1 on the road last Wednesday before routing Lowry 7-1 at home Friday.

North Tahoe (9-2-5, 8-0-4) hosts Incline and Sparks this week.

Girls soccer: Lakers roll past Buckaroos, Greenwave

Maile Markham scored two goals, leading the North Tahoe girls soccer team to a 3-1 3A Northern League win over Lowry on Friday at North Tahoe High School.

The Lakers’ Casey Garrity joined Markham in the scoring column with a goal. Piper Joubert, AJ Hurt and Magnolia Neu each had an assist.

Last Wednesday, Olivia Sproehnle netted a pair of goals to lift North Tahoe to a 3-1 home win over Fallon. Joubert added a goal to round out the scoring.

Neu led in assists with two, followed by Markham with one.

North Tahoe (7-7-2, 5-5-2) squares off with Incline and Sparks this week.

Volleyball: Lakers top Falcons, fall to Bobcats

The North Tahoe volleyball team defeated Sierra Lutheran 3-1 (25-21, 25-19, 22-25, 25-21) last Tuesday in Carson City.

On Friday, the Lakers never found its footing in a 3-0 loss (25-7, 25-13, 25-11) at White Pine.

North Tahoe (2-12) hosts Silver Stage on Wednesday and travels to Silver Stage on Friday.
