North Tahoe soccer | Lakers split against visiting Sparks

The North Tahoe soccer teams split their Sierra League matchups against visiting Sparks this past Thursday, as the girls won 2-0 and the boys lost 6-2.

Emily Nall scored the Lakers’ first goal in the 24th minute of the girls’ game, while Emily Pieper scored the second goal in the 72nd minute to help North Tahoe improve to 1-0 in league and 3-1-1 overall.

North Tahoe head coach Jon Rockwood said he was happy with his team’s performance, adding that the score did not reflect just how well the Lakers played.



In the boys’ game, the Railroaders jumped out to a 3-0 lead and led 3-1 at the half. Kevin Partida scored four goals to lead Sparks, which improved to 11-0 on the season. North Tahoe fell to 0-1 in league and 1-4-2 overall.
