North Tahoe tennis | 12 Lakers qualify for regional tournament
A total of 12 Lakers qualified to compete individually in the 4A Northern Region Tennis Championships this week in Carson City and Reno.
Krishna Patel and Brett Bahrke will represent North Tahoe in the first round of singles play on Wednesday, while the doubles teams of Kelly Lane and Nicole Phelan and Eliot Headley and Pierson Souza will compete in the first round Thursday.
Qualifying to compete in the play-in round on Tuesday were senior captain Emily Hetzel and Pedro Perello in singles, and Palffy and Lexi Schumann and Travis Boerner and Daniel Longo in doubles.
The girlsand#8217; play-in round on Tuesday, both singles and doubles, will be held at Carson High School and the boysand#8217; play-in round at Centennial Park in Carson City.
The first round of boysand#8217; singles will also be held at Centennial Park, while the first round of girlsand#8217; singles will be held at Carson High. Both the boysand#8217; and girlsand#8217; first round of doubles are scheduled to take place at Caughlin Club in Reno.
Tournament play continues through Saturday, with the top three seeds advancing to the state championship Oct. 21-22 at Caughlin Club.
