North Tahoe track: Jolicoeur leads Laker contingent at Colfax

The Laker track and field team earned a number of quality finishes individually last Friday in the Colfax Invitational.

Senior Kea Jolicoeur led the North Tahoe contingent with the only first-place finish, as she won the shot put with a throw of 31 feet, 9 inches. Laker head coach Skip Piechocinski said that mark was not a personal best for Jolicoeur, who also placed fourth in the discus with a toss of 96 feet, 10 inches.

North Tahoeand#8217;s girls 4×100 relay team made up of Kelley Altick, Heidi Schroepfer, Taylor Pasvantis and Jolicoeur took fifth with a time of 57.48 seconds, while Schroepfer finished 10th in the 100-meter dash with a person-best time of 13.88.

Pasvantis placed ninth in the long jump with a mark of 14 feet, 6 inches, and Altick took seventh in the triple jump with a leap of 31 feet.

On the boysand#8217; side of the competition, Hugo Ramirez finished third in the 3,200 (2-mile) with a time of 11:17 and 10th in the 1,600 (1-mile) with a time of 5:08.25.

Parker Laughlin took sixth in both the shot put and discus, while Cody Lieberman placed 12th in the discus. Laughlin recorded a throw of 40 feet, 7 inches in the shot put competition and 124 feet, 6 inches in the discus, while Lieberman threw the discus 110 feet.

Laughlin also was part of the Lakersand#8217; 4×100 relay team that finished fifth with a time of 49.2 seconds. Other members of the relay team included Skyler Bradham, Cody Lieberman and Trevor Trimm.

A total of 19 North Tahoe athletes competed in the meet, which featured 14 schools.
