North Tahoe, Truckee volleyball | Lakers off to 2-0 start, Wolverines split against 4A schools

The North Tahoe volleyball team is off to a 2-0 start after beating Silver Stage last week and Loyalton on Tuesday.

The Lakers took down Loyalton in straight sets, 25-15, 25-18, 25-13. Alexa Andrews had five aces and four kills for North Tahoe, while Tara Turpin had five aces and two kills, and Iren Rojas had two aces and six assists.

North Tahoe plays at Portola on Tuesday and hosts a league match against former 3A power Yerington on Thursday, Sept. 23 at 6 p.m.



Truckee is now 16-4 overall after splitting a pair of matches against 4A opponents in the past week.

The Wolverines beat Reno in four games last Friday and lost at Douglas (12-1) in straight sets on Wednesday, 18-25, 7-25, 15-25.



Truckee plays at 4A Reed on Friday and at Dayton on Tuesday. The Wolverines return home Friday, Sept. 24 for a match against Fernley.
