North Tahoe volleyball comes back for win

The North Tahoe volleyball team won a competitive nonleague match in five sets at Lassen (Calif.) on Thursday.

After dropping the first game 16-25, the Lakers rebounded to take the match, 25-15, 22-25, 25-17, 15-13.

North Tahoe fell behind 10-3 in the final game before storming back for the two-point win.

“That was neat to see,” said Lakers head coach Tom LeFevers. “It’s nice to know they can do that when they’re down.”

Senior Kelly Hester set up her teammates for kills throughout the match and finished with 30 assists. Kayla Baumgardner posted 13 kills and four blocks, while Sydney Courcier had six kills and Arielle Younger four blocks.

The Lakers host a league match against Battle Mountain on Saturday starting at noon.
