North Tahoe volleyball: Lakers clinch postseason berth with league wins

The North Tahoe volleyball team clinched a postseason berth with league wins over visiting West Wendover and Battle Mountain this past Friday and Saturday.
The Lakers defeated the Wolverines 25-7, 25-21, 25-14, and got past the Longhorns 25-8, 25-15, 25-19. Stats were not available.
Entering Tuesday’s rival match against Incline, North Tahoe was tied for second in the Northern Division III standings with a 7-2 record. Incline shares the same record, while Yerington leads the way at 10-1. Pershing County, at 6-4, currently holds the fourth and final playoff seed.
North Tahoe has two league matches remaining after Tuesday — at Silver Stage (0-9) on Thursday and at home against Pershing County for senior farewell Friday at 5 p.m.
The top for teams advance to the Northern Division III regional championship, which is scheduled for Nov. 7 at Yerington. The top two teams from the regional tournament qualify for state, which will be held Nov. 13-14 in Henderson.
