North Tahoe volleyball takes down Mineral County

The North Tahoe volleyball team routed visiting Mineral County (Hawthorne) in three sets on Friday, 25-12, 25-9, 25-10, to improve to 2-0 in league play.

Senior Kayla Baumgardner led the Lakers with 11 kills and three blocks, while Kelly Hester recorded five service aces and Sydney Courcier three kills.

The Lakers followed by winning two of four matches against Northern 4A programs for a third-place finish in the Hug Tournament on Saturday. North Tahoe defeated North Valleys twice and lost to Spanish Springs and Hug.



“It was nothing spectacular,” Lakers coach Tom LeFevers said of the tournament. “We’re still playing well. We play Whittell (Tuesday), so we’ll know more about where we stand after that.”

The Lakers host Whittell today (Tuesday) at 5 p.m.
