Prep Alpine skiing | Lakers, Wolverines make All-League

Led by North Tahoe senior Sal Monforte, the Lakers and Wolverines landed a total of nine racers on the Tahoe Basin Ski League’s All-League teams based on their regular-season performances.

The top 10 boys and girls from the regular season received All-League recognition.

Monforte tied South Tahoe’s Michael Suglian atop the final regular-season standings after amassing 275 points. Truckee senior Ali Gerrard finished runner-up on the girls’ side to Incline’s Grace Dolan, as she tallied 268 points to Dolan’s 278.

Tyler Delumyea finished with the fourth-highest point total among boys, at 256, while teammate Nico Kuyper finished sixth with 244 points and Ei Tsuchida and Zac Bush tied for eighth with 235 points apiece. The Lakers’ Garrett Driller was seventh with 236 points.

On the girls’ All-League squad, North Tahoe freshman Bozhie Pokorny finished third overall with 256 points, while Truckee’s Marine Dageville was 10th with 222 points.

The NIAA State Alpine Skiing Championships are scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 28 and March 1 at Sierra-at-Tahoe. Both Truckee and North Tahoe qualified to compete as a team.
