Prep golf | Lakers edge Wolverines in match-play tournament

The North Tahoe and Truckee golf teams squared off in a nine-hole scrimmage at Old Brockway Golf Course in Kings Beach on Tuesday, with the Lakers coming out on top by a score of 4-3.

The format was match play, pitting each teamand#8217;s No. 1 golfer against each other, on down the line to each squadand#8217;s seventh player. The winner of each match earned one point for his school.

The Lakersand#8217; Justin Fenley, Trevor Semmens, Daniel Vandewiele and Zachary Kriston all won their matches, while Griffin Granger, Riley McGuire-McCarthy and Patrick MaCauley lost.



Truckeeand#8217;s winning players included Rolando Zarate, Nick Trim and Paul Buschmann; Sam Mohun, Austin Griffin, Jared Huey and Wes Harrington dropped their matches. The individual matchups were not available.
