Recreation board hosts regular meeting downtown tonight

The Truckee-Donner Recreation and Park District will hold a regular board of directors meeting tonight at 6:30 at the community center downtown.

Slated for discussion is:

Consideration of bids on purchase of two vehicles.

Discussion of the maintenance of the school playing fields.

Discussion of the district’s facility priority development plan.

Discussion of the new ballfields at Martis Valley including development and possible lighting.

Election of board officers for 1999.

Preliminary discussion for possible future development of McIver Meadow for recreational purposes.

The meadow was recently closed to sledders.

Agreement with Dennis Zirbel for trade of land at the Veteran’s Building for labor and expenses.

Draft of opening plan for the Activity Center.

The center, located next to the high school, is slated to open this month.

Policy for employees volunteering for special events.

General Manager Steve Randall will also give updates on the ice rink project, the skate park facility and the proposed disc golf course.

The meeting is open to the public.
