Richmond named to Team Elite

Bryan Richmond, Tahoe-Truckee High School alpine skier, was recently awarded a sponsorship via PowerBar’s 1999 Team Elite, along with 1,300 other athletes nationwide.

The 1999 team consists of athletes who compete in sports including triathlon, sky surfing, soccer, beach volleyball, cycling and range in age from seven to 77.

Team Elite members receive a PowerBar product allotment and have the chance to test new products prior to hitting the market.

Past and current Team Elite athletes include Tinker Juarez (1998 World Mountain Bike champion), Nick Radkewich and Barb Lindquist (short distance triathletes of the year), Mark Everett (seven-time national champion in the outdoor 800-meter run) and several X Games gold medalists, including Dennis McCoy and Janet Matthew.

The is the fourth year of the Team Elite, with more than 4,000 athletes applying this year.
