Shaun White to host Northstar’s 40th Birthday Bash

TRUCKEE, Calif. – Shaun White will host Northstar California Resort’s 40th Birthday Bash on Saturday, Dec. 22.

The event takes place 40 years to the day the resort opened for skiing for the first time.

“Northstar has certainly changed over the years, maturing into a destination resort that is recognized for providing great service and a complete destination mountain resort experience in North Lake Tahoe,” said Bill Rock, chief operating officer of Northstar. “We’re excited to have reached this milestone, and to have Shaun here to celebrate it with our guests.”

Kids ages 7 and older signed up for the Burton Snowboard Academy on Dec. 22 will be treated to a special visit from White during their lesson. Those interested in participating in the clinic are invited to sign up in advance on a first-come, first-served basis.

The lesson includes a Burton snowboard rental, all-day coaching and an all-day, limited-access lift ticket providing access to beginner lifts and terrain.

Live music performances will feature “Forget the Roses” from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the deck of the Lodge at Big Springs (mid-mountain), and “Mustache Harbor” on the Village Stage (Village at Northstar) from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

White and Rock will lead the crowd in a complimentary sparkling cider and s’more toast at 4 p.m. in the Village at Northstar, followed by a 70’s costume contest at 4:15 p.m., and an apres ski party at Tavern 6330′ in the Village from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. featuring a 70’s ski theme, special apres menu and a DJ.
