The Sierra Nevada College men’s lacrosse team won the Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association’s WCLL Division II Tournament in Southern California on Sunday, defeating No. 2 seed UC Davis 18-3.

As as result, the Eagles advanced to the MCLA national championships for the second year in row. They open against North Dakota State at UC Irvine on Monday, May 9.

Sierra Nevada College senior Jack Witt was the WCLL Tournament MVP and Defensive Player of the Year for the conference.

“Keeping the WCLL Championship in Tahoe was a big goal of ours this year,” said Sierra Nevada College lacrosse coach Matt Blamey. “I couldn’t be more proud of our guys for all of their hard work and commitment to the program.

“We enjoyed yesterday’s win, and now it’s time to get back to work. We have a lot more that we want to accomplish at the MCLA National Tournament.”
