Softball slams Muckers

LARA MULLIN, Sierra Sun

Although the Wolverine varsity softball team was down in Virginia City on Tuesday, the heat could be felt from their bats as the Wolverine varsity softball team defeated the Muckers 18-0 in an all-out landslide.

The young TNT bench came out swinging with every member of the team getting at least one hit.

“The girls are getting better every game and we were just too much for Virginia City,” said Coach Jack Howard.

The Wolverine team is coming off an important win against Manogue on March 20 – a team that is considered by many to be the best in the league. Howard’s bench also pulled out a late-game win against Loyalton on Monday, March 26.

After Tuesday’s victory, the ladies stand at 4-2 for the season with a long schedule ahead of them.

They practiced on a home field for the first time yesterday and are fired-up for their first home game this Saturday against Dayton at 1 p.m.
