33rd Annual Turkey Trot this SundayThe 33rd Annual Donner Lake Turkey Trot and Mashed Potato Mile will be held at West End Beach on Sunday, Nov. 15. The main, 7-mile race starts 10:30 a.m., with the kidsandamp;#8217; Mashed Potato Mile at 10:50. Walkers can start anytime after registration opens at 9 a.m. The event is a fundraiser for the Auburn Ski Club Junior Nordic Team. Entry fee is $20 for adults, $15 for those 18 and under and $5 for the Mashed Potato Mile. The Truckee Pet Station donated doggie snacks for any dogs who want to join in (must be on a leash and be well behaved around other dogs). Clinics will be offered Monday through Friday, non-holidays, and by appointment only (conditions permitting). Reservations must be made 48 hours in advance. Participants must be 13 or older, with a minimum of an intermediate level of skill. Cost is $199 for the first person and $50 for each additional person (up to four).
