Ride Giant/Ride Northstar mountain bike team seeks additional athletesNorthstar-at-Tahoe Resort and Giant Bicycles will continue the Ride Giant/Ride Northstar development mountain bike grassroots sponsorship program this year. They are looking for humble athletes who will be ambassadors in the Cat 2 andamp; Cat 1 level categories with riding styles from downhill to cross country. Selected athletes will have the opportunity to purchase a sponsorship package at a preferred price featuring the choice of a Giant bicycle with a package of benefits. Athletes should submit a cover letter and resume listing accomplished results to founding director Justin Swett at justinswett@hotmail.com. For more information visit http://www.ridegiantridenorthstar.wordpress.com.Alpine Meadows to host Trains slopestyle contestMarker Bindings, Volkl Skis, Smith Optics and the High Fives Foundation will present the 4th Annual Trains Slopestyle Contest on Saturday, April 16 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Alpine Meadows Ski Resort. Top skiers and riders will form five-person teams (for a total of six teams) and will ski or ride consecutively through the terrain park, hitting jumps one after another. A total of $3,000 will be donated by the winners to select charitable organizations.
