North Tahoe Pop Warner sign-upsThe North Tahoe Rams are holding early-bird Pop Warner sign-ups on Friday, June 24 at the Boys and Girls Club in Kings Beach from 4-6 p.m. and on Saturday, June 25 at the Incline Rec Center. Early sign-up costs are $130, as opposed to later sign-ups at $160. The teams are looking for Junior Peewee and Midget players, ages 10-11 and 13-14.Summer swimming race seriesThe Truckee Tahoe Aquatic Masters Swim Team will host a series of races this summer. Races are all 1-mile cable swims beginning from Donner Lakeandamp;#8217;s West End Beach. Races will be held on Saturday, June 25, July 30, Aug. 27 and Sept. 24. Races begin at 8 a.m., with day-of registration from 7:15-7:45 a.m. Swimmers do not have to be a registered USMS masters swimmer to compete. Pre-register on or by calling 530-582-7720. Additional golf clinics are scheduled for Mondays starting June 27 through Aug. 22 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. for a fee of $5. Local golf pros will teach the classes. Boards will be supplied from Angulo Hawaii, Mauiandamp;#8217;s premier board shaper. TDRPD has new Angulo boards available for rent now at the beach every day. Beach admission is $4 for adults and $3 for those under 18.Youth sailing campsThe Truckee-Donner Recreation andamp; Park District is offering junior Pico Laser sailing camps on Donner Lake starting June 27. The camps are for ages 8-17, with registration for beginners, intermediates and advanced classes. Classes are four days, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at Shoreline Park on Donner Lake. Participants must be competent swimmers. Cost is $190 for TDRPD residents per session or $200 for non-residents. Workouts include road and mountain biking, trail running and hiking to integrate with alpine-specific strength conditioning. Sessions last 1.5 hours and will be held Monday or Tuesday afternoons or Friday mornings weekly, for eight weeks. The first session starts the first week of July. Cost is $200 per eight-week session, or $20 a session for drop-ins.
