North Tahoe tennis, JV soccer coach neededNorth Tahoe High School is seeking coaches to lead the boysandamp;#8217; tennis and JV girlsandamp;#8217; soccer teams. Anyone interested in the positions may contact athletic director Judi Dietz at Twins Summer Baseball CampThe Tahoe Twins semipro baseball team will host a baseball camp at the North Tahoe Regional Park in Tahoe Vista, fields one and five, from June 26-28. Camp starts at 9 a.m. each day and ends at 2 p.m., with lunch from 12-12:30 p.m. Cost is $100 for all three days, or $40 per day, and includes drinks and a camp T-shirt. Twins manager Bob Habeger is camp director, with help from Twins players and high school coaches from around Northern California. The camp will focus on individual defensive skills, but will also work on hitting technique. Camp will end each day with a game. Campers should bring a glove, bat, cleats and a lunch each day, and are encouraged to wear their team uniforms. Check in will be from 8:45 to 9:15 on Field One. Contact Bob Habeger at Long Drive SeriesTruckee-Donner Recreation andamp; Park District presents the Summer Long Drive Series on the 17th tee at the Ponderosa Golf Course. Benefiting the High Fives Foundation and production from Crux Events, this series will showcase the best long drive golfers in the Tahoe Basin. Scheduled dates are June 27, July 25 and Aug. 15. Starting at 7:30 p.m., the best of three drives qualifies for the finals. Entry is $20 for each date and there will be merchandise prizes for all classes with cash prizes for the pros. For more info, visit High Fives at First Tee junior golf lessonsRegistration is open for junior golf and life skills programs with The First Tee of Northern Nevada at Tahoe City Golf Course. Remaining class sessions are July 13 and Aug. 24. Classes are available for beginner to advanced youth golfers ages 7-18. Cost is $80 per session; each session includes eight lessons. Financial assistance is available. Equipment is also provided for those who do not have their own clubs. The fundraising tournament is a four-man scramble format and includes a cart, range balls, lunch, drink specials, hole contests and prizes. Cost is $55 per person or $65 at the event. Registration begins at 11 a.m. on the day of the event.Sam Brixey Micro 6 Memorial TourneyThe sixth annual Sam Brixey Micro 6 Memorial Soccer Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 4 at Riverview Sports Park. Proceeds benefit the Truckee High Soccer program and provide a scholarship in Sam Brixeyandamp;#8217;s name for a graduating high school senior soccer player. Teams must be coed this year and divisions start at U10 and continue through adult brackets.Call to Truckee football alumniGridiron Alumni is planning a full-contact alumni football game between graduates of Truckee and South Tahoe high schools. The first 40 players signed up on each team get to play. Teams from Carson, Douglas and South Tahoe have already formed, with the Carson and Douglas teams to play in August or September. However, players from Truckee are needed in order for South Tahoe to get on the schedule. Players from North Tahoe, Incline and other area schools are also welcome to register for their own game.
