Fall full-court basketball leagueThe Truckee-Donner Recreation & Park District’s fall basketball league is scheduled to begin Oct. 5 and continue on Tuesday and Thursday evenings through December. The league will have two divisions, with the “A” league playing mostly on Thursday evenings and the “B” league playing mostly on Tuesdays. Games may also be scheduled on occasional Wednesdays. Cost is $325 per team due at sign-up. The season will consist of at least eight games and playoffs. Coed fall volleyball leagueThe Truckee-Donner Recreation & Park District’s coed fall volleyball league begins Oct. 4 and continues on Monday evenings through December. Teams will play 6-on-6 with three male and three female players. Cost is $300 per team due at sign-up. The season will consist of eight games and playoffs. Truckee pickleballThe newest edition to the Truckee-Donner Recreation & Park District adult sports family is pickleball. A blend of tennis, badminton and table tennis, pickleball is a growing sport across the country. The game is great for adults of all ages and ability levels. Pickleball is played with a wooden or composite racket and a wiffle ball. TDRPD will have drop-in pickleball on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:30-2:30 p.m. starting Oct. 5 continuing all winter. Truckee and North Tahoe pickleball “experts” will be on hand Oct. 5 and 7 to assist new players. Cost per session is $4. For more information contact Pete Kristian at 550-4452 or email@example.com. 3-on-3 basketball leagueThe Truckee-Donner Recreation & Park District’s 35-and-older, 3-on-3 winter basketball league and an open 3-on-3 league is scheduled to begin Oct. 4 and continue on Monday evenings through December. The league will have two divisions, both playing on Monday nights from 6-9 p.m. Cost is $150 per team due at sign-up. The season will consist of at least eight games. Teams in each division with the best record will receive a championship T-shirt. Games will take place at Alder Creek Middle School. For more information contact the TDRPD at 550-4452 or firstname.lastname@example.org.Rideout open gymBasketball open gym for $2 per person will be held the month of September on Tuesday and Wednesdays at Rideout Gymnasium from 6-8 p.m.Synchronized swimming and water balletThe Truckee Community Pool is offering 20 classes of basic synchronized swimming skills. No experience is needed (just basic swimming skills). Classes are Mondays and Wednesdays 7:30-9 p.m. through Nov. 17. Call the TDRPD main office at 530-582-7720 to enroll. Trail Running GroupMaximize training time with specific workouts in group setting with instructor Julie Young, owner of o2fitness. Learn valuable injury prevention exercises while achieving efficient biomechanical stride via drills. Weekly workouts progress to train physiological and neuromuscular systems, starting with specific strength, technique intervals, power and speed, and progressing to tempo and lactate threshold intervals. All abilities are encouraged to join. Training takes place from 7-8 a.m. Tuesdays, in six-week sessions. Cost is $100 per six-week session.
