Support Truckee High football team by purchasing discount merchant cards

Football season is closing in, and Truckee High School is gearing up for another year on the gridiron.
In order to raise funds for the upcoming season, the Wolverines players are making the rounds to local residents and businesses selling plastic merchant cards with discounts and coupons to local restaurants and businesses.
The cards cost $20 and give the owner discounts of 10-50 percent from businesses around town.
Truckee’s team has racked up seven state championships since 2001, and is coming off an 8-2 season and a trip into the Class 3A Northern region playoffs.
The Wolverines will kick off the 2017 campaign with a preseason game on Aug. 25 at Angels Camp, Calif., against Bret Harte. The team will begin their regular season schedule a week later at Wooster in Reno, Nev. Truckee’s first home game of the year will be against Lowry on Sept. 15.
To purchase a card to support the team’s upcoming season call the high school at (530) 582-2600 or track down one of the squad’s players.
